Strut Lockout Brace - RSI Smartcap
If you ever have to drive with the rear glass open on your RSI SmartCap, you may notice that the rear panel will bounce up and down as you go over bumps. While the struts are strong, they may need extra support to prevent damage or excessive wear while being used in this fashion.
These strut lockouts are specifically designed for the RSI SmartCap EVOa for a 2019-2023 Ford Ranger, but fitment has been confirmed with other mid-sized caps as well as new-generation Toyota Tundras.
* They are sold as a pair (one for each strut on the rear window), along with one velcro strap for each lockout brace. While not completely necessary, the velcro ensures that the lockout braces will not come off of the struts during driving over rough or uneven terrain. These lockout braces are also very functional for maintaining the open position for the struts if they have begun to fail or have become weaker over time.
The lockout braces are 53mm in length, and fit snugly around a 8mm diameter strut.
